RECAP: PASSAFIRE @ JANNUS LIVE REGGAE SUNDAY

What's up Sociabulls!?

Hope you were able to catch the amazing show last night at Jannus Live. Passafire was the main featured band in the Reggae Sunday series at Jannus, but the best part is, that is was free! Having Passafire stop by Jannus for a show was a pleasant surprise because St. Petersburg was not a listing on the Start from Scratch Tour. So when word gets around about Passafire having a free show at Jannus, St. Pete finds its ways to pack the place!

The vibe and energy was intense and full of reggae aficionados. The crowd comprised of passionate Passafire fans, roots reggae rock fans and people just enjoying a free show with good music. Fans singing along, a piñata being thrown around and some glowing hula hooper's hooping in the back.

Fans got a good share of Passafire songs from previous albums, but also got to experience a lot of new songs from their recent one, Start from Scratch. One of the performances that stuck out the most was a full acoustic performance of "Dimming Sky" with a very nice addition of a ukulele. Another really neat part of the concert was the reggae cover version of Miike Snow's indie hit, "Animal." The cover was insanely catchy and had the entire crowd into it.

At the end of the concert, when Passafire left the stage, the crowd was not ready to let the night end. A encore is what the crowd demanded and voiced very loudly. Passafire ended up coming out to play one more song and thank St. Pete and Jannus Live for the night. Call this a true encore and not something planned. RECAP: SLIMMIE HENDRIX AT BISHOPS 12/16/11

Bishops Tavern & Lounge kicked off with a dedicated audience for the All You Can Drink from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. and DJ Barry Carew spinning some fresh dance tunes. From the beginning of the night there was a strong positive atmosphere in the VIP. There were several birthdays being celebrated with everyone and bottles being popped everywhere. Around 11:30 p.m. the Lounge was getting packed with happy people and an energetic dance floor. We got a very special visit from recording artist QWILZ and helped us pop some bottles as well.

Once Slimmie Hendrix took the stage, the crowd was still packed and everyone gathered their energy to enjoy the show. Slimmie played songs from his EP, Sleezington Ave (download here) and got everyone into it, including a freestyle from a member in the crowd.

When Slimmie ended his show and got a great response, the party continued with more jams from DJ Barry Carew. The night had energy, happiness, an awesome atmosphere that you would NOT want to miss next time. FOAM PARTY 4 RECAP!

Well mark last Saturday down in the books as another successful foam party! 

Did you notice anything new this time? Maybe the addition of the foam cannon at the foot of the stage that shot out foam into the raging crowd! Every time the party just gets bigger and better!

We really hope you all had as much fun as we did!

JEREMIH'S PERFORMANCE AT VENUE!

 Wow, last night was awesome!

Nocturnal Productions threw a great event last night at The Venue. They pulled in over 1,000 people to see Jeremih perform live on a Wednesday night!

DJ FRESH came on before Jeremih and kept the crowd pumped up all  night long until the performance. If you haven't experienced DJ FRESH in action your in for a treat. He takes it to another level coming out from behind the tables to pump up the people and get them involved. Jeremih came on stage to an anxiously awaiting crowd of fans and put on an amazing show! He even picked a lucky fan out of the crowd, brought her on stage and sat her next him as he playing the beginning of his hit "Birthday Sex" on the piano!

SUMMER FOAM PARTY 3 RECAP!

We hope you all had as much fun as we did at the Summer Foam Party 3 on Saturday!

KAP SLAP was awesome and if you haven't heard all of his mixes before make sure you check out his youtube channel (CLICK HERE), "like" his Facebook page (CLICK HERE), and go to his website (CLICK HERE) to listen to all of his awesome MASHUPS FOR RAGING and to find out his tour dates and other info.

Some people were afraid that the lack of Glo Paint would hurt the party.. but judging by the pictures it looks like it didn't deter many people from having a SociaBULLAST!

Also the addition of the beach balls was a nice touch!

GLO-FOAM AFTERMATH!

We are not sure if words can even describe how epic last night was, and we hope you all had a SociaBULLAST!

The anticipation for this event had been building for weeks. After the first summer foam party word spread that the second would be even bigger and better. Everyone was wondering how that would even be possible...well it definitely was. 

Last night blew away any expectations of what the night would have in store.

6 Foam machines pumping out foam, a 30 foot waterfall coming down from the sky, 3 killer DJ's...oh yeah and GLO PAINT!

We can confidently say that in our opinion, this was the biggest event to ever hit St.Pete!
